Updated 11 July 2026. For adults aged 18 and over.
Four dedicated, public-facing swingers clubs could be verified as operating in Queensland: Mike’s Place at Slacks Creek, Taboo22 at Loganholme, Encounterz in Ipswich CBD and Chateau Vino at Molendinar on the Gold Coast. All four are in South East Queensland. Private groups and invitation-only parties also operate, but they are not the same as permanent venues and cannot be mapped exhaustively from public information.
The practical differences between the clubs matter more than their broad descriptions. Admission categories change by night. Booking rules vary. One venue closes at midnight, while others continue until 2am or later. Prices range considerably, particularly for single men.
A useful way to compare them is to begin with the exact night you are considering, then check who may attend, whether booking is required, what the dress code permits and how the venue handles phones, alcohol and privacy.
Mike’s Place, Slacks Creek
Address: Unit 12/6 Maunder Street, Slacks Creek
Phone: 0431 846 883
Regular hours: Friday and Saturday, 8pm to 2am
Mike’s Place follows a straightforward weekly format. Friday accepts couples, single women and a limited number of single men. Single men must book in advance, while couples and single women generally do not need to book. Saturday is restricted to couples and single women.
Published entry prices are $80 per couple, $30 for a single woman and $100 for a single man. The FAQ also says first-time single men must become members, although the pages reviewed do not clearly state a separate membership fee. That is worth asking about when booking.
Based on the facilities described on its website, Mike’s Place has more of a private social-club arrangement than a conventional city nightclub. It lists a lounge, bar area, several private rooms, change rooms with lockers, showers, towels and an outdoor spa. Alcohol is BYO, stored and served by staff. Basic mixers, soft drinks and finger food are included in the entry price. Dress is smart casual.
The written rules require patrons to be at least 18 and carry photo identification. Consent is required, harassment is prohibited, and the club makes clear that admission creates no obligation or guarantee of interaction with another guest. Cameras, recording equipment and camera-equipped phones cannot be used without management approval.
There is one inconsistency to resolve before travelling. The main page and FAQ list Friday and Saturday opening, but the single-men information page still refers to Thursday and Friday admission. The Thursday reference may be outdated. Phone the venue rather than planning around it.
Practical fit: Mike’s Place has relatively simple pricing and does not ordinarily require couples or single women to book. Its Friday and Saturday admission policies are quite different, so choosing the correct night matters.
Taboo22, Loganholme
Address: Unit 5/6 Cairns Street, Loganholme
Phone: 0423 181 109
Regular hours: Friday and Saturday, 7.30pm to 2am
Taboo22 requires advance booking. Single men must telephone rather than relying on an online message or turning up without confirmation. Its current calendar also states that booking is preferred for all visitors, so the venue can plan staffing and attendance ratios.
At the time of checking, the site displayed an entry fee of $75 per couple, $85 per single man, and $30 per single woman. It also advertised free entry for a single woman’s first visit. The same page carried a notice of a $5 increase from 1 August, raising the prices to $80, $90, and $35, respectively, but it did not identify the year. Since the calendar itself is dated June and July 2026, confirm the applicable price when making the booking.
The dress code is more specific than a general request to look presentable. The site excludes thongs, boardshorts, singlets, baseball caps, ripped clothing and workwear such as high-visibility garments. Management reserves the right to refuse entry where the standard is not met.
Published facilities include more than eight themed rooms, a dance floor, spa, massage area, lounge spaces, pool table and a staffed BYO bar. Guests bring their own alcohol, while the venue supplies basic mixers and other consumables. It also advertises inside or off-street parking. The gate is locked at 2.30am, so cars left overnight must be parked outside the gated entrance without obstructing neighbouring properties.
Taboo22 publishes a detailed calendar of ordinary venue nights and themed events. This matters because admission arrangements, deposits and the mix of attendees can change for particular events. Some listed nights require a non-refundable deposit from single men. A standard Saturday should not be assumed to operate under the same conditions as a special event.
A detailed photography or mobile-phone rule was not visible on the public page reviewed. Ask before arrival rather than assuming that ordinary nightclub phone habits are acceptable.
Practical fit: Taboo22 provides plenty of information about what is happening on a particular night, but it expects visitors to book and follow a fairly exact dress code. It suits people who prefer to know the event format before attending.
Encounterz, Ipswich CBD
Address: 86 Brisbane Street, Ipswich
Phone: 0492 854 559
Regular hours: Friday and Saturday, 6.30 pm to midnight
Encounterz occupies a heritage building in central Ipswich and has the earliest regular closing time of the four venues. That can be a meaningful difference for visitors who would rather have a defined evening than commit to a late-night finish. The venue describes itself as council-approved, although that is a provider-supplied statement rather than independent certification by this directory. (Encounterz)
All single men must book so the venue can manage attendance ratios. Other visitors can book online or by text, and prepaid tickets receive priority over door sales. The venue’s gallery page describes booking as recommended for everyone. (Encounterz)
Encounterz publishes separate member and non-member prices:
| Admission category | Member | Non-member |
|---|---|---|
| Couple | $75 | $85 |
| Single man | $75 | $90 |
| Single woman | $30 | $40 |
Annual membership is listed at $40 for a couple, $50 for a single man and $30 for a single woman. Lockers cost $5 per night, and card payments at the door attract a $1 fee. For a one-off visit, the non-member amount is the figure to use when comparing costs.
The dress code is explicit. Men are asked to wear at least a collared shirt and closed shoes, with runners excluded. Women are asked to wear suitable evening attire. The venue may make a discretionary exception, but it is unwise to build a first visit around that possibility.
Encounterz is BYO and supplies basic mixers, ice and cups. Its public pages also list showers, towels, condoms and lubricant. These provisions are useful, but they should not replace bringing any personal products on which you specifically rely. (Encounterz)
The etiquette page states that consent is always required and that entry creates no guarantee of interaction with other patrons. Closed doors and blinds have defined meanings, and visitors are expected to respect them. Photos are permitted only when everyone in the frame has consented. The lower-risk approach remains to keep the phone away unless a photograph has been expressly agreed to.
Encounterz maintains an active event calendar. At the time of research it listed an event on 11 July 2026 and a newcomer-introduction series beginning on 17 July. The introductory listing describes a lower-cost early session before the main evening, but its calendar structure spans an unusually long period, so confirm the exact date and format before booking.
Practical fit: Encounterz offers clear non-member pricing, comparatively early hours and published newcomer sessions. It also has one of the stricter written dress codes.
Chateau Vino, Molendinar
Address: 22 Kamholtz Court, Molendinar
Phone: 0403 219 293
Regular nights: Every Friday and Saturday unless the event calendar states otherwise
Chateau Vino is the Gold Coast’s permanent public-facing option. Its published facilities have a more nightclub-oriented emphasis, including a staffed BYO bar, dance floor, DJ setup, multiple private rooms, an outdoor social area and pool tables. The venue says it began operating in 2011 and received Gold Coast council approval in 2012. Those historical and approval statements come from the operator.
Friday is the regular mixed-admission night, with single men accepted subject to capacity. Saturday is ordinarily for couples and single women. Single men may attend designated events or attend by invitation, subject to the venue’s conditions. Its current calendar says an invited single man on a standard Saturday must leave when the inviting couple leaves. Because the website describes several possible Saturday pathways, confirm eligibility for the specific date rather than relying on a general rule.
Chateau Vino has the highest published one-off entry prices among the four clubs:
| Admission category | Member | Non-member |
|---|---|---|
| Couple | $100 | $130 |
| Single woman | Free | $50 |
| Single man | $140 | $160 |
Membership is $40 a year and is not compulsory. The website says the prices were updated on 1 July 2025 and still displayed them when checked in July 2026. Single-men admission remains subject to the rules and capacity of the relevant night.
Alcohol is BYO. Drinks are labelled, refrigerated and served by bar staff, with mixers provided. Published facilities include multiple rooms, towels, showers and basic supplies. The venue’s calendar lists ordinary Fridays and Saturdays alongside themed events, including newcomer-focused nights on 7 August and 4 September 2026.
Its privacy rule is uncomplicated: photography is prohibited, including photographs taken with mobile phones. The other central rules require consent, prohibit opening closed bedroom doors and ban solicitation and illicit drugs. (chateauvino)
The venue is in an industrial area at Molendinar rather than in the central Surfers Paradise nightlife precinct. Its contact page estimates a taxi trip of 10 to 15 minutes from Broadbeach or Surfers Paradise. (chateauvino)
Practical fit: Chateau Vino offers the most nightclub-like published setup and a substantial forward event calendar. Its higher entry fees and more involved Saturday conditions make checking the exact event particularly important.
Why the verified list stops at four
No permanent, public-facing swingers club could be verified outside South East Queensland during this research. That does not establish that private social groups do not exist in regional areas. It means there was no fixed Queensland venue with sufficiently current public information to include on the same basis as the four clubs above.
Far North Queensland does host occasional lifestyle events. Turtle Cove Beach Resort, between Cairns and Port Douglas, lists an invitation-only lifestyle weekend from 4 to 6 September 2026, with the resort closed to the general public during the event. Turtle Cove is an adults-only resort hosting a private event, not a permanent swingers club.
Gold Coast Inner Circle also falls into a different category. Its website describes invitation-only meet-and-greets and private parties at changing locations, including penthouses and other private venues. It does not present itself as a permanent walk-in club. Its public “upcoming events” page contained an event description but no calendar date when checked.
Older names that still appear in search results
Swingers-club searches have an unusually long tail of old pages. That can make a closed venue look current or turn an event organiser into what appears to be a permanent club.
Club Whispers is still mentioned on older Queensland club websites, but its own domain currently contains no usable venue, contact or event information. It could not be verified as operating and is not included.
Couples International was a well-known Woolloongabba venue that received considerable media coverage in 2008. A closure notice was issued in 2013, so it is a historical result rather than a current Brisbane option. (News.com.au)
Club 86 appears in older reporting about the Ipswich scene. Current first-party pages for the premises at 86 Brisbane Street use the name Encounterz, so that is the name used in this guide. (Courier Mail)
How to compare the clubs in practical terms
Choose the night, not just the venue
A club name tells you where you are going. The calendar tells you what you are going to.
Friday and Saturday can have different admission categories at the same premises. A themed event may carry a deposit, a changed entry fee or a different policy for single visitors. Checking the date also reduces the risk of arriving during a private booking, members’ event or night aimed at a narrower group.
Treat the entry fee as access, not an outcome
The fee covers entry and use of whatever facilities the venue includes. It does not purchase attention, participation or access to another person.
Mike’s Place, Encounterz and Chateau Vino state this explicitly, and their published rules centre consent and the right to decline. This is not a small-print distinction. It is the basic operating expectation. (Mikes Place)
Put the phone away
Phone policies differ. Mike’s Place requires management approval for camera or recording use. Chateau Vino prohibits photography. Encounterz allows a photograph only where everyone in the frame has consented. Taboo22’s public page did not provide a detailed rule in the material reviewed.
Leaving the phone in a locker or bag avoids an awkward misunderstanding. Privacy is often more affected by one careless screen than by any formal policy.
Discuss boundaries before leaving home
Couples are better served by agreeing on the evening before entering the venue. That includes what each person is comfortable with, what remains uncertain, how either person can signal that they want to leave and whether ending the night requires an explanation.
The useful agreement is not an ambitious plan. It is permission to change one’s mind without turning the decision into an argument.
Plan the ordinary details
Bring photo identification, check the dress code and confirm whether cash or card is preferable. All four clubs describe BYO arrangements, but storage, service and supplied mixers differ. Arrange transport before drinking and check parking restrictions, especially where gates are closed after the venue finishes.
People tend to focus on what might happen inside. In practice, uncertainty about parking, arrival, payment and clothing often creates more avoidable stress than the unfamiliar setting itself.
Keep personal health decisions personal
Some venues say they supply condoms, lubricant or other basic items. Availability on one night is not guaranteed, and venue-provided products may not be the type an individual prefers.
Research and independence note
This guide was independently compiled for The Curious List, an Australian discovery directory for adults aged 18 and over. Its purpose is to bring scattered information about venues, events, communities and related services into one practical place. It is not a venue operator, a dating platform, a membership organisation, or a certification service.
Inclusion does not constitute endorsement or a guarantee of availability, privacy, conduct, cleanliness, accessibility or suitability. Provider-supplied statements, including claims about council approval or facilities, have not been independently audited. Prices, event formats and admission policies can change, so confirm the current details directly with the provider before travelling or paying.
